Via Ferrata are protected climbing routes with fixed climbing aids (ladders, rungs, wire ropes) which mostly consist of rope assisted walks and easy to moderate climbs which do not require any special climbing skills, thus giving everyone an opportunity to move through spectacularly exposed alpine scenery with the minimum of equipment. Via Ferrata are suitable for all ages and abilities from 8 years and up.
Run by a specialist climbing school, your instructor and guide will transport you the short distance to the location or start point. It is a great half-day excursion and offers a unique way of seeing the mountains. We like to run the activity with other Alpine Elements guests which make for sociable groups of 8 to 12 people.
Via Ferrata is a very popular add-on activity with our guests. They are rambles and climbs which do not require any special climbing skills - yet give everyone an opportunity to move through spectacular, exposed alpine scenery with minimal equipment.
Our holidays come with a selection of free activities to help you make the most of your time in the Alps. If you have any energy left, you can book additional activities with our Active Team in resort, who will help you plan your adventures and have an action packed week (or two) in the Alps. Our most popular add-on activities are Whitewater Rafting... Canyoning... Via Ferrata... Horse Riding... and Parapenting.
