About Méribel

At almost 80 years old she’s as stunning and even more lively than ever. Outstanding Méribel is a long-standing favourite, not least for her lively Aprés Ski scene. The first chalets popped up here in 1938 thanks to British skier Peter Lindsay’s vision of Méribel as a top resort.

A lot of money has been invested recently on the ski lift system which is now faster and more efficient than ever before, which spans into neighbouring Courchevel and Val Thorens (all on the same lift pass) for glacier snow and unrivalled variety to make one of Europe’s largest ski areas with a whopping 600 kms of piste!.

Beginner & Family Skiing, Méribel

As a beginner or family skier, you’ll enjoy Méribel’s tree lined slopes and excellent nurseries. There’s an extensive network of green runs which enable beginners to explore farther afield, to neighbouring ski villages of Courchevel and Les Menuires without being constrained to the lower slopes. Progression is made easy thanks to Méribel’s wide and well kept pistes, and there’s a selection of free beginner lifts and magic carpets to get you started and perfect for young children.

English speaking instructors and excellent ski and board schools are standard issue in this very well facilitated resort, offering private or group lessons for children aged 4+ and beginner to experts. Lessons can be booked with our tried and tested suppliers and our sales team are on hand to help.

Intermediate & Advanced Skiing

Les Trois Vallees (3 Valleys) is the perfect playground for Intermediate and advanced skiers. The slopes are characteristically wide, long lasting and highly efficient - all served by a modern Express lift system which allows for effortless skiing, less slope congestion and a lot less waiting in lift queues!

If you like variety then you’ll appreciate the area’s tree-lined runs (which are perfect for bad weather days) to its high altitude slopes up at Val Thorens or the famous Mont Vallon which are popular for late season skiers. In addition to the 600 km of piste is a tonne of off-piste itineraries (which we think are best with a guide) and not out of range for the intermediate skier.

Snowboarding & Freeride Skiing

The 3 Valleys are peppered with so many off piste itineraries that you’ll be spoiled for choice, even long after a powder day. You can enjoy spring snow (a phenomenon of reforming off-piste snow) long into April which extends the 600 Km pisted ski area by quite some margin. It makes Meribel a big hit for late season and Easter riding. Enjoy snow parks aplenty with jumps and rails of all sizes; and heaps of natural terrain that makes riding this vast area so much fun.
