Top Ten Things To Do In Les Gets This Summer

Updated November 2024

For some, Les Gets is the last town before reaching Morzine. However, to pass over what Les Gets has to offer is to miss one of the jewels of the Alps. Les Gets really comes alive in the Summer, with an atmosphere that’s hard to beat, anywhere! Here are just ten of the many reasons to stay in ‘Gets.

Les Gets is synonymous with Mountainbiking here're a few reasons why.

1️⃣  For World Class Mountain Biking

Home to some of the best biking terrain in the entire Alps (on a par or better than Morzine), the Les Gets Bike Park even hosts World Championships! The features are incredible, and superbly maintained. An absolute must-visit for any biker! Explore the Ported du Soleil’s extensive network of mountain biking trails suitable for all levels. Use our free-to-guests Specialized bikes, or hire your own.

Les Gets Lake

2️⃣  For Les Gets’ Lake

Cool off at Les Gets’ Lac des Ecoles lake, where you can swim, paddleboard, kayak, or bounce around on the inflatable obstacles. There’s also a kids play area, water slide, and a cafè, all surrounded by the most beautiful alpine scenery. Make sure to pack a picnic!

 Family biking

3️⃣  For The Family Bike Rides

From tree shrouded valley routes beside bubbling river to the high passes, with all-important mountain restaurant stops, there is a plethora of routes for the whole family. Make use of our free route cards to really get the best out of the area. The most extensive summer-time lift system allows bikers to reach the best high altitude terrain easily, and quickly.

Wibit Lake Fun

4️⃣  For The Weird & Wonderful

From the lake’s Wibit inflatable adventure course to the Alpine Coaster (40km/h, 1.1km!) roller coaster, Les Gets has its share of off-beat activities for you to try out this Summer. Don’t miss the Mechanical Music Museum, with it’s unique collection of music boxes & more. You can go further afield to Chatel's Fantasticable 1.2km long zipwire and travel up to nearly 100km/h!

 Paragliding gives a birdseye view

5️⃣  For The Mountain Activities

Soar above peaks, ridges, riders and walkers, not to mention cows, with your Paraglider pilot, seeing the Alps from a new perspective. Try Via Ferrata to scale the cliffs, using pre-installed ladders, ropes, bridges and steps to climb the rock faces. Les Gets’ Indiana’Ventures tree top adventure park is a great playground, with scramble nets, tarzan swings, bridges and routes for most ages and abilities - a definite 'must' for kids of all ages!

 Whitewater Rafting

6️⃣  For The Water Based Activities

Our holidays include a free Whitewater Rafting adventure - possibly our most popular activity. Why not try Canyoning, where you jump, slide, swim and abseil your way down alpine waterfalls and pools, expertly guided by your instructors. Or maybe, give Hydrospeeding a go for more white water fun as you float and steer your way down the river on you own body board.

 Les Gets E-biking

7️⃣  For Your Free E-Bike Taster

E-bikes are one of the biggest things to hit the Alps, enabling riders to go farther and with less effort - hardly having to lift a pedal! Les Gets even has specially designed trails focussing specifically on E-bikes. Guests at our Hotel Christiania even get a free E-bike session, to see what all the fuss is about.

Family Walkers

8️⃣  For The Walking & Hiking

One of the best ways to experience the beauty and grandeur of the Alps is to walk amongst the towering peaks. Use your free lift pass (included with our holidays) to whisk you up to some of the best Alps’ trails. Use our free route cards, like the one to Mont Clery, and truly discover the Alps! You can even get as far as Switxerland - but keep your eye on the time!

 Les Gets buzzing nightlife

9️⃣  For The Buzzing Town

Sometimes seen as the lesser sister to Morzine, Les Gets is far from it: With a buzzing atmosphere with a great range of boutiques, bars, cafè’s and restaurants. The strong music and club scene is there to keep the fun going well into the small hours.

Kids love goats!

🔟  For The Family Activities

Families love the cheese making workshops, and be sure to check out the goats at the farm shop near Mont Clery (don't miss out on the Mont Clery mountain restaurant!), or maybe the sheep farm. There is so much for families to enjoy, in the beautiful mountain air. We have a range of free itineraries to help you find some of the areas gems, best vistas and enjoyable walks or rides.
