Join us for kayaking or paddleboarding on the beautiful Lac Montriond in Morzine or the lake in Tignes. In both resorts, this on-the-water adventure is included free for our guests as part of the Active Pack.
Follow one of our Route Card itineraries and combine it with walking, biking, or wild swimming for a perfect day in the mountains.
Sit-on-top kayaks are easy to use, suitable for ages 4+, and require no special skills — you can go solo or double, and our activity team will help you get started.
The beautiful Lac Montriond near Morzine is the perfect setting, which is why we include a free kayaking or paddleboarding session with our Active Packs. Each session lasts around an hour, giving you plenty of time to explore the lake at your own pace.
Getting there is easy — bike, walk, or take the free shuttle — and you can make a full day of it with wild swimming and lunch at the lakeside restaurants. It’s a stunning spot, especially in the sunshine.
You can reach the lake either by taking the free shuttle bus or by starting your adventure on two wheels. It’s around 3.5 miles from the centre of Morzine, and cycling along the scenic mountain roads is a fantastic way to kick off the day — with fresh alpine air, stunning views, and a real sense of adventure before you even arrive.
Your on-the-water session lasts around an hour — plenty of time to explore the lake and enjoy a fun experience on a paddleboard or kayak. We recommend arriving 10 minutes before your allocated slot (provided by our Mountain team so you can meet our reps at the activity centre, get introduced to the equipment, and familiarise yourself with the lake.
Once your session begins, you’ll be provided with a high-quality inflatable paddleboard or rigid kayak, and fitted with the right paddle. The friendly centre staff will help you get started, so even complete beginners can confidently ‘give it a go’ in the calm and secure waters of the lake.
If you’d like to stay out a little longer, you can easily extend your session locally for just €10, thanks to a special concessionary rate paid directly to the supplier.

Getting to Tignes’ lake from our hotel in Les Brévières is easy — just hop on the free shuttle, running every 30 minutes. Once there, you can enjoy your complimentary session at the Nautical Base, where you can choose to kayak, paddleboard, or pedalo.
It’s the perfect activity to combine with one of our other Tignes adventures, such as a walk to the Eye of the Needle or our Altitude Experience, making it a fun and rewarding day in the mountains.
