Tignes Nautical Base

All our guests can get a free session of either Stand Up Paddleboarding or you can choose Kayaking or Pedalo at the nautical base on the big lake in Tignes Le Lac. It’s free on your MyTignes pass and makes for a great afternoon out in central Tignes, when you can also try other free resort activities or the mountain lifts (for biking and walking) which are based around the lake. Le Lac is quite easy to get to from our hotel using the free resort shuttle from Les Brévières.

Try also the Giant Slide

Why not try the Giant Slide (cost €15) after the Nautical base, it’s right next door.

Stand Up Paddleboarding

  • 30 mins on the water (allow 1Hr+)
  • For ages 5+
  • Wetsuits / buoyancy aids provided
  • €15 adult/child, or
  • Free with our Active Pack

Many people can’t explain why they get so addicted to Paddleboarding. For some, it’s the ‘feel good’ factor of a core workout, for others it is the feeling of peace they get from this ‘soulful art of walking on water’.

Paddleboarding makes for a great day out when combined with one of our Route Card Itineraries, during which you might try a bike ride or a walk to the lake, or perhaps some wild swimming as well - to spice the day up a bit!

Kayaking

  • 30 mins on the water (allow 1Hr+)
  • For ages 4+
  • 1 and 2 man kayaks
  • Wetsuits / buoyancy aids provided
  • €15 adult/child, or
  • Free with our Active Pack

You can choose kayaking instead of SUP and try from either a two-person or solo-kayak. Kayaks offer the perfect opportunity to explore the lake, and these sit-on-top kayaks are easy to use and suit all ages 4yrs and up, even if the youngest paddlers are mainly passengers!

Sit-on-top kayaks require no special skills and the activity guide will be on hand to help you get started. The beautiful lake of Tignes is a great place to be in the sunshine. You will start with a safety briefing and a quick-guide lesson on how to use the kayak and paddle techniques before getting on-the-water.

Pedalo

  • 30 mins on the water (allow 1Hr+)
  • For ages 4+
  • 2 and 4 person pedalos
  • Wetsuits / buoyancy aids provided
  • €15 adult/child, or
  • Free with our Active Pack

You can choose to take a pedalo out, instead of kayaking or SUP and explore Tignes’ lake from a different perspective. Pedalo are a lot of fun, and guarantee smiles all round. Choose from a variety of craft, from 2 to 4 and perhaps 5 people can get on board the larger ones.

Getting there

The Nautical Base is on the lake by the tennis courts in TIgnes Le Lac. Simply take the free resort minibus shuttle up to Tignes Le Lac (which stops 5 mins walk from our hotel and runs every 30 mins). The minibus stops near the tourist office in Le Lac on the main street and if you walk past the Toviere Cable car and tennis courts following the lake path round to the Nautical base in the far left corner of the lake, by the Giant Slide. The shuttle from Les Brevieres is free on the MyTignes pass.
