Tignes is a mecca for road bikers, there are many great (and some famous) rides to choose from, be it those that take in the Tour de France stages, or the epic routes into Italy via La Rosiere, (which we’ve seen guests do on hybrid mountain bikes!). Expect rides of varying degree, from 11km and 300m elevation to rides of 60Km with up to 2000m elevation.
At Hotel Tetras Lodge we have a small selection of road bikes which are free for guests to use; or you can bring your own bike out and we will transport it (for free) on our complimentary airport transfers.
Our free-use road bikes are similar to the Specialized Allez and we share them among guests - so at worst you will have at least a day a week ‘free-use’ or more if you reserve a bike for a small local fee.
There are routes for all levels and to give you a flavour, here are 5 epic routes (there are plenty more) to get dreaming about. Challenge your calves to the penultimate Tour de France stage in stunning alpine scenery or try a ride with less vertical ascent - again there are plenty to choose from. You can enjoy traffic free roads for some of these rides, plenty of pit stops along the way and stunning scenery a guarantee.
