Whitewater Rafting, Isere

A great way to break the ice with other Alpine Elements guests!

One of the must-do activities in France is the famous Whitewater rafting excursion of the Isere valley. It really doesn't get better than this, and we have a Discovery ride for families and the Great Descent (with our Adventure Pack upgrade) for adults and teens’ who like a faster ride! Whichever descent you choose, nothing will bond you more with your fellow hotel guests like heading down a river at high speed on an inflatable raft, right?

Top Tip: You can swap your free Whitewater rafting excursion for a Via Ferrata excursion instead. Adventure Upgrades will have the 'Great Descent' rafting as standard.

Discovery Descent (Grade 2-3)

  • 3Hrs (1hr15 descent time)
  • Allow half day +
  • Ages 8+
  • €85 with transport, or
  • Free with our Active Pack

Included with our Discovery Active Pack. This is a great white water rafting programme on grade 2 to 3 rapids. You will start with practical swim techniques in the river rapids (which means getting in for a plunge!) before paddle techniques, how to sit in the raft and safety. It’s a fun and educational adventure, children must be accompanied by an adult. These rapids are the best balance between exciting and rewarding, without being too demanding. Ages 8+.

The Great Descent (Grade 2-4)

  • 3Hrs (1hr30 descent time)
  • Allow half day +
  • Ages 12-13+
  • €95 with transport, or
  • Free with our 'Adventure' Active Pack

Included as standard with our Adventure Active Pack upgrade, this is a full descent of the Isere rapids, taking in more challenging grade 4 rapids in sections. This is a fun activity, lasts a long time and has a river swimming section in the rapids - which is super fun. Open to kids age 12-13+ accompanied by an adult. This full section of rapids is very famous and a must-do activity in France!
