Learn MoreDiscover Lac Montriond, a 1.3Km lake near Morzine. It’s such a beautiful place that we give an inclusive session of paddle boarding or kayaking with our Active Packs to encourage you to visit! You’ll find it easy to get to the lake on two wheels (or two feet), or even take the free shuttle bus from Morzine centre. For a bit of adventure, you can even hike or mountain bike to the lake over the mountain using the lifts and following easy trails down to the lake. Kids aged 6+ can do the journey on a bike; and the experience of taking the chairlifts with a bike is a lot of fun.
The lake is a great spot to spend the day for walks, sunbathing and paddlesports; or for the kids to have fun-in-the-sun while you chill and have a swim in the lake's natural swimming area. There are three lovely restaurants on the lakeshore and a cafe or two, which are some of our favourite places to eat. The lakeside pathway is great for walking, biking and jogging; but if you’ve some energy - then try a walk up to the village of goats, which takes an hour or so from the lake. This quaint mountain village is literally dominated by goats and has ice cream, coffee and gift shops.
The lake above the centre of Les Gets provides a stunning centrepiece to this pretty family resort, which is twinned with Morzine. You can walk up there easily from our hotel Christiania; or to visit from Morzine, simply head up the Pleney gondola lift (using your free lift pass) and follow the paths to Les Gets. It’s about an hour or so walk at altitude and simply stunning all the way.
The lake is ideal for swimming and has a cafe, sunbathing beaches and grassy banks to relax and enjoy a picnic. You’ll find kids’ fun-and-games next to the lake: there’s a brilliant assault course, a luge track (which is a lot of fun for all ages!) and its’ centrepiece - an inflatable obstacle course known as the Wi-Bit, which is a hit with adults and kids.
The WiBit fun park can be pre booked (ask our reps to help you) or just turn up if you don't mind a short wait. It has a series of inflatable obstacles, bouncy cubes, bridges and slides. They provide the wetsuits and buoyancy aids on site.
This small bucolic lake is away from the crowds and enjoys a very calm, natural environment. It is a lovely place to walk or cycle to, but also the starting point for some lovely walks to the Swiss border. At the lake you can enjoy absolute peace and nature among mountain pastures and coniferous forests that surround the water and there is a small cafe.
Located at the bottom of the Manche Valley, it’s about a 15 min’ journey from the centre of Morzine by free resort shuttle bus, or you can walk or cycle up to the lake by following our Lac Mine d’Or Route Card.
Once there, you can continue your walk on a path that goes around the lake, go hiking to the Col de Cou at the Swiss border, or just relax. The atmosphere is calm and soothing and a pure getaway from the hub-bub of Morzine.
The lake in Tignes is a magnificent centre piece to this resort and offers lots of watersports and games for all ages, and some of the good ones are free to do on your MyTignes card which is included for free with our Active Packs.
Have a go at kayaking and paddle boarding or pedalo. Kids and adults have plenty to do all week (in fact almost too much!) and everyone loves Acroland for adrenaline-fuelled activities.
This beautiful lake is in front of our Hotel Tetras Lodge and it hosts many lovely bike rides and walks. The trail that circumnavigates the lake is a great place to go for a cycle on our bikes, or even a morning jog. It is absolutely stunning and you will enjoy watching wildlife as you walk or ride along its peaceful shore. There is a restaurant close to the lake, but our hotel is one of the only buildings on its shore.
