Rock Climbing

Learn advanced climbing techniques only taught in France

We have partnered with Evolution 2 to provide a special rock climbing lesson and an experience for beginner and expert climbers in one of the prettiest places in all of the Vanoise National Park. It is an activity where beginners (aged 7+) and advanced climbers can all enjoy the same outing,  with easy and advanced climbs in the same spot. Get ready to push your limits, marvel at the beauty of nature and experience an adventure you'll remember for the rest of your life.

Climbing, Chevril Tignes

  • Age 7-8+ (accompanied by adult)

Located just above Les Brevieres, you can E-bike your way here from our hotel; or we can organise a private taxi or minibus. We have designed this incredible activity with Evo 2 to give our guests the maximum experience via a skills workshop and practical rockface lessons  led by a high mountain guide and instructor. This activity is a must-do adventure which suits beginners from age 7+ and advanced climbers. The location in Chevril, a tiny hamlet above les Brevieres, looks out over the lake and is simply stunning. Just see the images here!

About the activity

Climbers can try easy and advanced premade routes all at the same site, so don't worry if you are a seasoned climber or a fit individual - you can do this activity with your kids and all be exhilarated and learning new skills at the same time.

You will learn climbing techniques, how to belay and abseil, and many other techniques not taught in England, but only by our highly experienced, state qualified mountain instructors.Techniques such as Lead Climbing, where you will clip in your own gear using premade routes. This is an advanced technique that you will learn and will therefore set you up for a more advanced course in climbing and eventual autonomy on the climbing routes of Tignes. It will offer a great deal of satisfaction.

Participation conditions

  • Wear suitable sportswear, trainers or boots; a windbreaker, snack and water
  • Bring your hotel packed lunch
  • All safety equipment is provided (harness and safety lines)
  • Children are welcome from 7 years old
  • Expert climbers can enjoy the activity alongside beginners.
  • No prior climbing experience required
  • Participants need to be sporty, in good physical health.
  • Participants not to be afraid of heights, although most heights are not severe

Getting there

The Climbing is just above Tignes Les Brevieres, (about an 8 min drive from our hotel), or you can E-bike to the activity using our hotel E-bikes which is a nice way to start the adventure. Alternatively, we can provide transport to and from our hotel door for a small local cost. You will need to meet at the top of the dam above Brevieres, in a small car park which is 100m after the main road forks left to Val D'Iseres.
