Catering is provided as standard with our catered chalets and hotels as described on the individual property pages within this website.
Breakfast: We offer breakfast every morning (7 days) which is a continental or cooked breakfast with items like: breakfast cereals, croissants, fruit, fruit juice, yoghurts, fresh breads, conserves, pastries, ham and cheese and of course unlimited tea and coffee. We offer cooked items for 3 mornings a week (4 in hotels) which will typically consist of bacon, eggs, beans or bacon rolls. For staff mornings off, (3 mornings a week), breakfast will be continental only and in chalets, it will be self-serve.
Afternoon tea: Cakes or biscuits will be laid out on a self-serve basis with tea and coffee from about 4pm each day - available for 6 days a week.
Dinner: Each evening (for 6 nights) you will be served a 3-course menu of home cooked food with unlimited red and white house wine included until dessert (for chalets). For staff day off, there is no evening meal. It's a great opportunity to explore the local restaurants. We do not attempt to create flamboyant Cordon Bleu menus, instead we concentrate on wholesome, hearty and great tasting, nutritious dishes to take the edge off those ski appetites. Wine is not unlimited in supply, (we are not an 18-30’s establishment!), however, it is supplied liberally with meal times up until dessert. Wine is not included with our hotels.
You can either book into a chalet on a shared basis (select chalets) or book a chalet privately for your group. If your group size falls short of the chalet capacity then you may pay for empty beds to gain sole-occupancy, or find that it comes with one, two or three or even four ‘free beds’ if you book early enough. Do speak with our sales advisors who will provide a best-quote for your group to take a chalet for private use.
Yes we do offer an earlier kids’ meal time. You must book this before you travel and there is a supplement for kids meals and earlier times. Read more on our diets page.
If your chalet or hotel has a hot tub, sauna, pool or other leisure facilities, opening times will be limited to times of the day when such facilities are generally used.
Yes. Our hard working staff have one full day off each week and two mornings off. You still get breakfast each day (on their mornings-off, it is self-serve) and you still get 6 full nights of catering and service each week .On their full day off you’ll need to find a local restaurant.
Vegetarian and other special diets can be accommodated so long as you don't turn up without prior warning and expect gastronomic genius! The food ordering and preparation for your week is done during the week before your stay, therefore we do require prior warning (14 days) where possible.
There is also a limit to what is actually possible. Many alternative ingredients for those with dairy, wheat and other intolerances are not always readily available in resort, so do let us know as soon as possible, at least 14 days prior to departure.
Please be aware that we cannot cater for anyone with an airborne nut allergy or anyone who is allergic to even traces of nuts. Read more on our diets page.
Yes, we have select chalets available for smaller groups to share with other like minded guests from Alpine Elements. Shared chalets are ideal for couples, families and small groups to share. We are always careful with mixing groups with couples and families in our chalets. Our shared chalets are fun and sociable places to be and of course we ask that guests understand the dynamics of a shared property; particularly a chalet which can comprise of smaller public areas, sometimes shared bathrooms and limited security (lockable doors) on bedrooms.
In our catered chalets and some chalet-hotels (not hotels) we offer free and unlimited wine with dinner, up until dessert or when coffee is served. Our house wine is a choice of red and white wine. Please refer to the “What’s Included” sections on the accommodation pages on our website. You can upgrade your wine (in cases of 6 bottles) before you travel and we will have your wine delivered to you, for your arrival. More on wine upgrades.
You may check-in to your hotel or chalet on the first day of your holiday (arrival day) after 16.00. All bedrooms must be vacated by 10.00 on the day of departure.
If you arrive earlier, you can often leave bags in public areas or store room (at your own risk) which is at the chalet host or resort managers discretion, due to incoming arrivals. If you are keen to get on the mountain on arrival day and your room is not ready, we will try to find you a spare room or space in which to change into your ski gear.
Our hard-working staff have a big job to do on changeover day so we kindly ask that you depart on time and allow them the space they need to turnover our properties.
For arriving guests, there may be some disarray throughout arrival day, with staff cleaning rooms and public areas from the previous week’s guests. Properties may not be fully cleaned and ready until after 16.00 and so we would ask earlier arrivals to be especially appreciative of this.
Transfer times are: 1Hr to 1hr.15m for Morzine and Les Gets; 2hrs to 2hr.15m for Les Trois Vallees; 2hrs 30m to 3hrs for La Plagne, Tignes and Val d’Isere. The individual resort or accommodation pages on the website should contain more information on transfer times. Please be aware that any published transfer times are provided as a guide and have been calculated under normal driving conditions. Certain factors such as heavy traffic, extra bus stops (for the loo & refreshment) and adverse weather conditions may lengthen transfer times. Many of our transfers are subcontracted to third party coach companies and their terms will apply. For all of these reasons, we cannot guarantee their prompt arrival at the airport, or that they arrive at the published time, or for any shortfalls in supply on behalf of the third party supplier. For this reason, we recommend you allow plenty of time between the published arrival time of your transfer, before your flight departs.
We have chosen to stop selling holiday packages with flights, so our guests can book their own flights and make use of budget airline prices from their favourite UK airports.
We provide Complimentary Airport Transfers (return) between Geneva and the door of your chalet or hotel for Early bookers. This leaves you free to book your flights knowing that we will take care of the rest. Take a look at our property pages to see which properties come with free transfers, but pretty much all of them do!
Our coaches have to depart on time and may not be able to wait for your late arrivals, so it is your responsibility to meet the coach on time. If your flight is delayed and you miss your allocated transfer then we will endeavour to get you onto another transfer, (if one is available), but if there is no availability, you will have to be prepared to pay for a taxi to get to the resort.
If you miss your transfer, inform our Emergency Airport RepEmergency Airport Rep at your earliest convenience.
Yes! And it is not as far as you might think. Almost all of our chalets and hotels have free parking at the property, or you can find parking nearby. Check the property pages on this website for more info about parking.
The drive takes 8-9 hours on the French side and is a great way to experience France and see some spectacular sights on route. You’ll avoid the airports and extra baggage charges and you’ll be able to bring what you like (within reason!) and also travel at your own agenda which means extra half day’s skiing with careful ferry or Eurotunnel planning. Fuel is generally cheaper and the motorways are faster and have far less traffic.
Tip: Take the Eurotunnel and you won’t need to come into contact with another person between your doorstep and the front door of your chalet.
Fly to Geneva: for all our summer and winter holidays. All our transfers depart at set times from Geneva airport, for all our resorts.
Our transfers and Complimentary Transfers depart the airport at set times, the details of which are published on our website transfer page. At no point will the published times change, unless you receive a specific written notice from us. This will either be via a Company email; or on a printed notice on Company headed paper displayed on our Company notice boards, in any of our accommodations. If they change then they will not affect your flight booking so long as you have followed our recommended timescales (i.e. 90mins to 2Hrs) as detailed on our transfer page.
If you miss your flight out to France, do contact our Emergency Airport Rep so we are not expecting you at the airport. You will have to find an alternative method of travel and transfer to the resort.
If you miss your return flight home due to the late arrival of our transfer, you will have to find alternative flights, at your cost. So please ensure you have travel insurance to cover for this situation.
Our transfers are complimentary and carry no charge, or are very low cost. They are operated by third party suppliers whose terms and conditions will apply. The mountain roads and conditions they sometimes have to operate in often provide unexpected delays. Therefore, we ask guests to understand the risks of delay when booking onto them. We would always urge guests to allow plenty of time to catch their flights when booking them to line up with our transfers, and even more time in peak periods. We cannot be held liable for missed flights however caused, even due to a later than scheduled arrival of our transfer at the airport. Guests must be aware of the risk of adverse weather, heavy traffic or lengthened airport delays etc, especially in peak periods. If you miss your transfer or return flight home then you must be prepared to pay for your own cost of replacement travel. We cannot be held responsible for settling any additional travel costs in any event.
We recommend that you allow plenty of time (e.g. 90 mins to 2 hrs and 3 hrs in peak periods), between our published coach arrival time (at Geneva) and your scheduled flight departure time. And that you have suitable travel insurance in place to pay for missed flights.
Our transfers are run by third party suppliers whose terms and conditions will apply, and override ours. When booking onto our transfer you agree to the risks involved of missing your transfer and/or your return flights home; and you indemnify Alpine/Ocean Elements (iGOSKI Ltd) of any further cost or loss that you may incur.
To book your transfer, email transfers@igoski.co.uk with your ‘AO booking reference’ number and slot preference (see our transfers page)
You can speak to our sales team to hold an Option for 24hrs on your accommodation and transfer slot so you are able to secure your flights before paying us a deposit. Please do not book your flights until you receive our iGO SKI Confirmation Invoice or Confirmation of Option.
You can book your transfer at the time of your holiday reservation or anytime after booking (but no later than 14 days before departure). Please be aware that availability is limited, so we recommend you book onto one as soon as possible.
Your transfer is only confirmed when you have received your iGOSKI Confirmation Invoice or Confirmation of Option which will have details of your transfer and slot.
See our Complimentary Transfers page for more
We only operate in the four best ski resorts in the Alps. They all have excellent, English speaking ski schools and nursery slopes with ski gardens (like a skiing creche) for very young kids age 4-6 and even free ski-lifts for complete beginners. All our resorts also have extensive networks of gentle green and blue slopes for children to learn and easy-to-use ski lifts, instead of difficult drag lifts!
Yes. We will bring lift passes to your chalet or hotel for when you arrive, but only for lift passes bought through us.
We will send you a list of trusted or partner ski or snowboard lesson providers after you have made your reservation with us, so that you can contact them and book directly. We find this is easier as everyone has specific needs and questions when considering lessons.
Yes. If you buy through us, your skis/boards will be supplied from the closest Skiset shop to your accommodation and at a cheaper than public price.
Furthermore, we set our prices at a favourable UK exchange rate of 1.18 (as at Nov 2024). You can book Ski Extras with us after you have made your initial holiday accommodation reservation, via our MyHoliday portal, as part of a separate booking contract.
All Ski Extras are provided by local suppliers or third parties for whom we act as agents, and are entirely independent of us. They do not form any part of your booking contract with us even where we suggest particular operators/other third parties and/or assist you in booking such activities or excursions in any way. As third party suppliers, their terms and conditions will always apply.
If booked through us, we usually have no onward involvement after booking, except to bring lift passes to you when you arrive, or help you in resort to find your ski shop, or help with paying suppliers directly (where applicable); and to assist you if you have issues with damages to kit or lost/stolen Lift passes or hire kit.
Please note: The single component holiday arrangements we offer and make for you do not constitute a “package” and accordingly, the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018 do not apply to them.
Our holidays include all the essentials you should really need, without the restrictions of expensive charter flights - thus allowing you to make savings using budget airlines.
Included in our holidays is your accommodation for 7 or 14 nights with half board catering: breakfast every day (cooked and/or continental), afternoon tea with freshly made cakes (6 days) and 6 nights evening meal, (and not just 5 nights like most operators), which is 3 courses and comes with wine during dinner for chalets. Also included is our chalet or hotel service and the services of our staff who will cook, clean and look after your holiday needs.
We also include free airport transfers (to and from Geneva) during our early booking period, so all you need to do is buy your own flights from your favourite UK airport to Geneva and we’ll take care of the rest. See more on what’s included.
Yes. We sell our passes at the same public rate as you would buy them from the Lift pass Office, directly. Our prices are set in sterling at a favourable exchange rate of 1.18 (as at Nov 2024). We have access to all the usual, standard discounts, like family passes, senior discounts, child discounts and we pass them all on to you, at the same public rate. We make a small margin of commission but NO additional margin on the price.
In return or buying with us (which will cost you the same as buying direct), we will bring your lift pass to you, for your arrival and we can assist with things like lost passes, queries and any other issues so you don't have to seek out and liaise with the local French suppliers.
If you self drive you have more control over your travel schedule and it is very possible to ski on your arrival day, or your departure day, for perhaps half a day. We can hold your bags in our hotels, but check in and out times must be respected for new incoming guests: check in at 4 pm; check out at 10am.
Not a lot really! You’ll need to buy a flight to Geneva from your favourite home airport and some travel/medical insurance to cover the activities you want to do. Ours is from £36pp/wk. See our insurance page. You will need to pay the local tourist tax on arrival (fr €2 p/day). And you may also need some Ski Extras, (ski pass and ski / board hire or lessons), but that’s about it, other than spending money and lunch money.
We cannot guarantee the snow, but 27 years of operating experience gives us confidence that there will be plenty of snow and slopes open for all of the advertised weeks of the season. In addition, we only operate in resorts with glacier access and high altitude slopes. These resorts are Morzine-Avoriaz, Tignes, La Plagne and Meribel (3 valleys). Although there isn’t a glacier in Morzine-Avoriaz, it is the most northern resort in France and has plenty of high altitude slopes. This means its snow quality is better for its moderate altitude than more central-southern resorts.
And don’t forget…although we have good snow years and bad snow years - modern advancements in snow making tech means that resorts never really have a problem with snow coverage between December and late April. Also, fake snow (from cannons) is very abundant and actually better than the real thing. It is less dense and much easier to ski on with modern skis.
We can only give this guidance from experience and we would always recommend having a suitable travel medical insurance policy to cover for holiday curtailment and lost days due to adverse weather or not enough snow.
Yes. If you have taken a holiday with us before, to any of our brands, you may join Elemental, our loyalty club to receive a discount on your next holiday and discounts in resort. Join Elemental. Elemental discounts cannot be combined with other %age discounts.
As soon as you can! Our chalets and hotels fill very quickly and we are always full. Furthermore, your overall holiday and travel price will be much cheaper the earlier you book - which is pretty much guaranteed these days! Yes, you might snag a late deal but they are very rare nowadays as the demand for catered ski holidays is so high.
Yes. It is a condition of booking with us that you and your party each have adequate travel/medical insurance which includes Medical cover to at least 5 million, search and rescue cover and that it states you are covered for winter sports and the summer sports you intend to take part in.
Our chalets and hotels are always full and our catered chalets fill quickly. If a private catered chalet is important for you, then try to book during our Early Booking Period and certainly before summer is out. Remember that our prices will normally rise as the season nears. Call us well in advance, at least for a quote with our best price and group discounts so you can hold a non-committal option and not lose out.
Your balance will normally be due 10 to 12 weeks prior to departure. Please refer to your Holiday Confirmation Invoice for your balance due date.
If your holiday is booked within this time you will need to settle balances on receipt of your Holiday Confirmation Invoice, (normally sent by email) or by the balance due date detailed on this invoice.
We have two Early Booking Discount Periods. The first ends in April (for the following winter) and this is the best discounting period with the highest number of free spaces for chalets and hotel rooms. The second period ends in August and will see the last of our early discounting offers being ended: like free transfers, group free spaces and other offers - which will be vastly reduced or completely stopped.
Instead of child discounts we offer bigger discounts for booking triple or quad bedrooms and family suites. We also offer free spaces in private chalets. These discounts are far greater than nominal child discounts. We also offer discounted family liftpasses. Call our sales team for a best-quote for your group of family.
Yes. If you have a group of 8 or more you can qualify for free spaces in our private chalets. We offer as many as 4 free spaces for some of our larger chalets. These free space discounts will be reduced for most chalets after our first Early Booking Period has ended. You will always get the best discounts and greater number of free spaces the earlier you book.
