Making use of a professional bike guide for a half or full day is a great way for experts to experience the wider terrain or for beginners to try the lifts for the first time. Your guide will show you the best trails and give you riding tips to help you tackle the terrain. Our Active Team can help you book a guide and even connect you with other Alpine Elements guests if you’d like to share the cost.
Making use of a professional bike guide will give you a fantastic opportunity to discover the area and its hidden gems; or for beginners to get a valuable introduction to the lifts and more advanced trail riding. We can hook you up with our recommended guides for a half or full day session. We’ll also help you to join a group with other guests to share the cost. /p>
The guides we use are at the top of their game. They know the best trails and will always consider your safety as their priority. They will impart tips and technique advice to help you tackle the trails - like how to ride banked corners, bumps and rough terrain smoothly, and at speed. We’d recommend you rent a full-suspension Pro Bike and you’ll need a daily lift pass.
A guide is often a qualified instructor and you can choose a guided ride for any level. You might be a beginner looking for an introduction to Downhill trail riding (using the lifts), or an intermediate looking for a confidence boost. You might be an Enduro or Cross country rider looking to discover miles of new terrain; or a Downhill rider looking to up your game and learn how to ride faster and smoother.
Our Mountain Team can also connect guests who want to ride together in a social group. Just sign up at our hotel reception (chalet guests can join in) and we’ll endeavour to link you with others of a similar taste and ability to ride with. It’s also a great way to meet our other Alpine Elements guests .
We recommend groups follow one of our suggested itineraries and that you start out from one of our Hotels. Simply ask our team on arrival and whilst we don't offer any promises, we will endeavour to match you with a group of like minded guests.
If you want to make the most of the mountain biking (using the lifts) and you wish to take part in a guided ride, (intermediate and up), then we would recommend you rent a full suspension bike using our local (recommended) suppliers. We recommend booking in advance as availability can be limited.
Our guides are expert and semi-professional, certified mountain bike coaches and/or mountain guides. They love their sport, and they like to share their knowledge and impart their technical skill base to any of our guests, especially if you make it known to them that you would like to learn more.
Riding the Alps with a guide is a great way to discover the best terrain and ride in a sociable group. We always recommended beginners try a guide if they are new to trail riding and using the lift system. Your guide will introduce you to the secret spots that only a local knows and fast-track you to the best riding for your ability. Guaranteed smiles all round!
You are of course welcome to explore the local terrain by yourself and most guests will do this. We simply ask that you ride with at least one other person and inform our Active Team (or hotel reception) of your intended route and ETA. We supply Route Cards with itinerary suggestions and maps at our chalets and hotel receptions.
