Making use of a professional guide offers a fantastic opportunity to discover the area and its hidden gems. It’s also a great way to meet other like minded walkers and hikers. You can use a guide for a mountain walk using the lifts or a more adventurous hiking excursion, whatever your level or taste. Our Active Team will help you book a guide in resort and even match you up with other guests to share the cost.
Top Tip: For our Tignes guests to Hotel Tetras we include up to 2 guided hikes for free
We’ve teamed up with Evo 2, local activity experts to offer you guided walking and hiking tailored to your wishes. To walk with a guide is a rewarding experience and you will see the area from a local’s perspective. Learn some history, see wildlife and enjoy a sociable walk or a more adventurous hike. You choose.
Top Tip: We can help put guiding groups together, so if you are a couple or smaller group - speak to our hotel reception on arrival and we will try to match you with fellow guests to share the cost.
We’ve also teamed up with Evo 2 in Tignes and their local mountain guides will be offering all our guests a choice of guided hikes, which we include for free with our Active Packs. We will run at least two different walking groups of 8-12 guests at a time. A ‘Discovery’ group for families and an ‘Adventure’ group for those who want to hike higher and longer. These are sociable walks or hikes with other Alpine Elements guests; and you will learn about the local culture and see incredible sights.
A guided walk or hike is a great way to meet other Alpine Elements guests and experience the beauty of the Alps in company. A guide with a local’s knowledge will show you some hidden gems and take you to places you would not otherwise find, with stunning views, local culture and lots of wildlife along the way. And another thing - it will give you plenty to chat about around the dinner table afterwards!
A guide walk can run for a half or full day but we think a half day is perfect for most, more adventurous hikers may want to do a full day.
A guided walk may take in some lifts to reach high vantage points easily, so make sure you take your free lift pass with you. Then, you can walk at altitude, cover more mileage and enjoy the views more. You will find plenty of rest stops (cafes and restaurants) and even activities to do along the way and spice things up for younger walkers, like the Fantasticable zip wire or Goat Village.
