Yes. It is a condition of booking with us that you and your party each have adequate travel/medical insurance which includes Medical cover to at least 5 million, search and rescue cover and that it states you are covered for winter sports and the summer sports you intend to take part in.
Yes, if you have a group of 8 or more you can qualify for free spaces in our private chalets. We offer as many as 4 free spaces for some of our larger chalets. These free space discounts will be reduced for most chalets after our first Early booking period has ended; and reduced again after our second Early booking period has ended.
Your balance will normally be due 10 to 12 weeks prior to departure. Please refer to your Holiday Confirmation Invoice for your balance due date. If your holiday is booked within this time you will need to settle balances on receipt of your Holiday Confirmation Invoice, (normally sent by email) or by the balance due date detailed on this invoice.
Yes. If you have taken a holiday with us before, to any of our brands, you may join Elemental, our loyalty club to receive a discount on your next holiday and discounts in resort. Join Elemental. Elemental discounts cannot be combined with other %age discounts.
Our chalets and hotels are always full and our catered chalets fill quickly with repeat guests. We are the only licensed operator (ABTA) exclusive to British guests, to offer activity holidays to the French Alps with activities included and things like kids club, free bikes, excursions and holiday planning.
Instead of child discounts we offer bigger discounts for booking triple or quad bedrooms and family suites. We also offer free spaces in private chalets. Call our sales team for a best-quote for your group of family.
We have two Early booking Discount periods. The first ends in February (for the coming summer) and this is the best discount period. The second ends in April and this is when the last of our early offers ends, like free transfers, group free spaces, bonus free activities and other offers. All will be vastly reduced or completely stopped after this date.
As soon as you can! Our chalets and hotels fill very quickly and your overall holiday and travel price will be cheaper the earlier you book - which is pretty much guaranteed these days! Sure, you might get a late deal but they are rare because demand for our Active holidays is so high.
We have chosen to stop selling holiday packages with flights, because many guests are requesting to self drive or book their own flights from their favourite home airport, whilst making use of budget airline discounts. Goon are the days when you have to get up at 4am just to reach Gatwick airport in time for an early morning charter flight!
We provide Complimentary Transfers (return) between Geneva airport and the door of your chalet or hotel for Early bookers. This leaves you free to book your flights knowing that we will take care of the rest. Take a look at our property pages to see which properties come with free transfers.
Transfer times are: 1Hr to 1hr.15m for Morzine and Les Gets; 2hrs to 2hr.15m for Les Trois Vallees; 2hrs 30m to 3hrs for La Plagne, Tignes and Val d’Isere. The individual resort or accommodation pages on the website should contain more information on transfer times. Please be aware that any published transfer times are provided as a guide and have been calculated under normal driving conditions. Certain factors such as heavy traffic, extra bus stops (for the loo & refreshment) and adverse weather conditions may lengthen transfer times. Many of our transfers are subcontracted to third party coach companies and their terms will apply. For all of these reasons, we cannot guarantee their prompt arrival at the airport, or that they arrive at the published time, or for any shortfalls in supply on behalf of the third party supplier. For this reason, we recommend you allow plenty of time between the published arrival time of your transfer, before your flight departs.
To book your transfer, email transfers@igoski.co.uk with your ‘AO booking reference’ number and slot preference (see our transfers page).
You can speak to our sales team to hold an Option for 24hrs on your accommodation and transfer slot so you are able to secure your flights before paying us a deposit. Please do not book your flights until you receive our iGO SKI Confirmation Invoice or Confirmation of Option.
You can book your transfer at the time of your holiday reservation or anytime after booking (but no later than 14 days before departure). Please be aware that availability is limited, so we recommend you book onto one as soon as possible.
Your transfer is only confirmed when you have received your iGOSKI Confirmation Invoice or Confirmation of Option which will have details of your transfer and slot.
See our Complimentary Transfers page for more
If you miss your flight out to France, do contact our Emergency Airport Rep so we are not expecting you at the airport. You will have to find an alternative method of travel and transfer to the resort.
If you miss your return flight home due to the late arrival of our transfer, you will have to find alternative flights, at your cost. So please ensure you have travel insurance to cover for this situation.
Our transfers are complimentary and carry no charge, or are very low cost. They are operated by third party suppliers whose terms and conditions will apply. The mountain roads and conditions they sometimes have to operate in often provide unexpected delays. Therefore, we ask guests to understand the risks of delay when booking onto them. We would always urge guests to allow plenty of time to catch their flights when booking them to line up with our transfers, and even more time in peak periods. We cannot be held liable for missed flights however caused, even due to a later than scheduled arrival of our transfer at the airport. Guests must be aware of the risk of adverse weather, heavy traffic or lengthened airport delays etc, especially in peak periods. If you miss your transfer or return flight home then you must be prepared to pay for your own cost of replacement travel. We cannot be held responsible for settling any additional travel costs in any event.
We recommend that you allow plenty of time (min. 2-3 hours), and even more time in peak periods, between our published coach arrival time (at Geneva) and your scheduled flight departure time. And that you have suitable travel insurance in place to pay for missed flights.
Our transfers are run by third party suppliers whose terms and conditions will apply, and override ours. When booking onto our transfer you agree to the risks involved of missing your transfer and/or your return flights home; and you indemnify Alpine/Ocean Elements (iGOSKI Ltd) of any further cost or loss that you may incur.
Fly to Geneva: for all our summer and winter holidays. All our transfers and Complimentary transfers depart at set times from Geneva airport for all our resorts.
Yes! And it is not as far as you might think. Almost all of our chalets and hotels have free parking at the property, or you can find parking nearby. Check the property pages on this website for more info about parking.
The drive takes 8-9 hours on the French side and is a great way to experience France and see some spectacular sights on route. You’ll avoid the airports and extra baggage charges and you’ll be able to bring what you like (within reason!) and also travel at your own agenda which means extra half day’s skiing with careful ferry or Eurotunnel planning. Fuel is generally cheaper and the motorways are faster and have far less traffic.
Tip: Take the Eurotunnel and you won’t need to come into contact with another person between your doorstep and the front door of your chalet.
Our transfers and Complimentary Transfers depart the airport at set times, the details of which are published on our website, on the transfer page. At no point will the published times change, unless you receive specific instruction from us, in writing. This will either be via a Company email; or on a printed notice on Company headed paper displayed on our Company notice boards, in any of our accommodations.
Our coaches have to depart on time and may not be able to wait for your late arrivals, so it is your responsibility to meet the coach on time. If your flight is delayed and you miss your allocated transfer then we will endeavour to get you onto another transfer, (if one is available), but if there is no availability, you will have to be prepared to pay for a taxi to get to the resort. If you miss your transfer, inform our Emergency Airport Rep at your earliest convenience.
You can either book into a chalet on a shared basis (select chalets) or book a chalet privately for your group. If your group size falls short of the chalet capacity then you may pay for empty beds to gain sole-occupancy, or find that it comes with one or two free beds to make it cost-effective for you. Do speak with our sales advisors who will provide a best-quote for your group to take a chalet for private use.
You may check-in to your hotel or chalet on the first day of your holiday (arrival day) after 16.00. All bedrooms must be vacated by 10.00 on the day of departure.
If you arrive earlier, you can often leave bags in the property's public areas or store room (at your own risk) which is at the chalet host or resort managers discretion, due to incoming arrivals. If you are keen to get on the mountain on arrival day and your room is not ready, we will try to find you a spare room or space in which to change into your ski gear.
Our hard-working staff have a big job to do on changeover day so we kindly ask that you depart on time and allow them the space they need to turnover our properties.
For arriving guests, there may be some disarray throughout arrival day, with staff cleaning rooms and public areas from the previous week’s guests. Properties may not be fully cleaned and ready until after 16.00 and so we would ask earlier arrivals to be especially appreciative of this.
In our catered chalets and some chalet-hotels (not hotels) we offer free and unlimited wine with dinner, up until dessert or when coffee is served. Our house wine is a choice of red and white wine. Please refer to the “What’s Included” sections on the accommodation pages on our website.
Catering is provided as standard with our catered chalets and hotels as described on the individual property pages within this website.
Breakfast: We offer breakfast every morning which is a continental breakfast with items like: breakfast cereals, croissants, fruit, fruit juice, yoghurts, fresh breads, conserves, pastries, ham and cheese and of course unlimited tea and coffee. We also offer cooked items for 3 mornings a week (4 in hotels) which will typically consist of bacon, eggs, beans or bacon rolls. For staff mornings off, (3 mornings a week), breakfast will be continental only and in chalets, it will be self-serve.
Afternoon tea: Cakes or biscuits will be laid out on a self-serve basis with tea and coffee from about 4pm each day - available for 6 days a week.
Dinner: Each evening (for 6 nights) you will be served a 3-course menu of home cooked food with unlimited red and white wine included until dessert (for chalets). For staff day off, there is no evening meal. It's a great opportunity to explore the local restaurants. We do not attempt to create flamboyant Cordon Bleu menus, instead we concentrate on wholesome, hearty and great tasting, nutritious dishes to take the edge off those ski appetites. Wine is not unlimited in supply, (we are not an 18-30’s establishment!), however, it is supplied liberally with meal times up until dessert. Wine is not included with our hotels.
If your chalet or hotel has a hot tub, sauna, pool or other leisure facilities, opening times will be limited.
Yes, we have select chalets available for smaller groups to share with other like minded guests from Alpine Elements. Shared chalets are ideal for couples, families and small groups to share. We are always careful with mixing groups with couples and families in our chalets and we ask that our guests understand the social situation of a shared property, particularly a chalet which can comprise smaller public areas, sometimes shared bathrooms and limited security (lockable doors).
Vegetarian and other special diets can be accommodated so long as you don't turn up without prior warning and expect gastronomic genius! The food ordering and preparation for your week is done during the week before your stay, therefore we do require prior warning (14 days) where possible.
There is also a limit to what is actually possible. Many alternative ingredients for those with dairy, wheat and other intolerances are not always readily available in resort, so do let us know as soon as possible, at least 14 days prior to departure.
Please be aware that we cannot cater for anyone with an airborne nut allergy or anyone who is allergic to even traces of nuts. Read more on our diets page.
Yes. Our hard working staff have one full day off each week and two mornings off. You still get breakfast each day (on their mornings off it is self-serve) and you get 6 nights catering .On their full day off you’ll need to find a local restaurant
Yes we do offer an earlier kids’ meal time. You must book this before you travel and there is a supplement for kids meals and earlier times. Read more on our diets page.
Our hotels and chalets are full of active families and couples or friends that want to do all the activities and folk that just want to walk, have a leisurely pace to their holiday and folk that just want to ride bikes. A nice mix of guests, but everyone is similarly minded and gets along brilliantly!
Yes. If you’d rather tailor your own activities - or have none at all - then Active Lite gives you the essentials: some basic free bike hire, the services of our Active Team, our mechanics and a Multipass & Lift pass, (for a nominal £60 discount in Morzine & £100 discount in Tignes). See Active Lite.
Not a lot really! You’ll need to buy a flight to Geneva from your favourite home airport and some travel/medical insurance to cover the activities you want to do. Ours is from £36pp/wk. See our insurance page. And you’ll need to pay the local tourist taxe (fr €2 p/day) on arrival.
Yes you do. You will have two active packs for each member of your party, and a second one for the second week.
The Alps in summer are sunny and warm with temps up to 35 degrees in the peak. We get rainy patches as is common in mountain areas, (but they dont last for long), and we enjoy a lot of warm sunshine for the most part. We forget how far south the Alps are actually located, quite far south of Paris and on a similar latitude to La Rochelle in Southwest France. So it’s unsurprising they get their fair share of good weather. Pack plenty of good quality sun cream, light rain macs for the odd shower, shorts and T-shirts.
No. All the activities you should need are included in our Free Active Packs. However, if you feel like you’ll have the energy for more - then we’d recommend you book them when you arrive with our Active Team. The only thing we’d recommend booking and securing in advance may be Full suspension Downhill bike hire due to potential issues with local availability.
Yes of course! The Alps are a relaxing place to be: calm, tranquil, fresh mountain air, lakes and plenty of sunshine. You can really get away from it all. There are numerous cultural places to visit and the general mountain or alpine culture is fascinating. We can promise a pure escape on one of our alpine holidays, so you can choose how relaxed or active you’d like to be.
We run our holidays for kids of all ages 4yrs+. Our Active Kids Clubs have two groups: 4-7 yr olds and 8-12 yr olds. Children as young as 4 can use the mountain bikes and go for extended rides and do many of the resort activities. It is fair to say that there is more for older children age 8-9+; but there is still plenty to keep the younger ones (including mum and dad) well entertained. The Alps are for everyone and truly a family destination, whatever age of your children.
Our favourite month to visit is June, without question! The first week of September is our second favourite week to visit. The families only visit in July and August, and the bike trails are in the best shape they will be all season in June. There are fewer people in the resort - so you’ll have the place to yourselves and the weather is fine and sunny. Almost all the resort amenities and activities are open, certainly all the best ones anyway!
Pretty much, yes. The early weeks of June and Sept may see minor restrictions to the free resort Multipass and slightly fewer lifts may be open - but still more than enough to bike and walk a great many trails. There may be some restrictions on the more minor activities such as the outdoor pool, the ice skating rink, the Luge track or WiBit (etc) and some of the free bus routes may not yet be fully running. But all of the best (premium) activities are open, running as normal and all those we include for free in our Active Packs are operating as normal.
You’ll get more than enough ‘free activities’ to keep you busy for a week (or two) away. You can book extra activities if you have any energy left and we’d recommend you do this with our Active team on arrival, directly with our suppliers Evo 2 who will be at your Welcome meeting. For two week stays you get DOUBLE the quote of free activities, so a full, Free Active Pack for each of your weeks away.
Your free activities include free bike hire (front suspension bikes), free Whitewater rafting, a free resort Multipass for resort activities and a pedestrian lift pass and even a biking lift pass for Tignes. You’ll also get premium activities (which differ by resort) like ‘Cascades’ Adventure Park, Via Ferrata, a Paddleboarding or Kayaking excursion, Climbing, Mtn Bike guided rides and guided Hikes and of course our excellent Active Team to help you plan an amazing week of adventure. See individual property pages for a complete list of what’s included.
We included everything that you’ll need for a week full of adventure in the Alps, including the obvious things like your accommodation, catering, our staff and resort services (essential) and enough free activities (Our Active Packs) to keep you thoroughly entertained all week.We also include free airport transfers for early bookers, so all you need to do is buy your own flights from your favourite UK airport to Geneva.
Yes. In our experience there are plenty of every size mountain bike in our fleet. Our road bikes are limited, so speak to our sales team if a road bike is important to you and we can pre-reserve one for you before you depart. If ever there is a size which is not available, we should be able to free-one up in no time. So the wait will normally be quite short. In our experience, all guests have more than enough use of free-use bikes for their week away.
