Morzine and Les Gets is the most popular bike destination in the Alps. It was one of the first resorts to welcome mountain biking in the 90’s and has invested heavily in its facilities and trails. So, it is little surprise that Morzine is still the leading bike destination in Europe for downhill biking.
Morzine is in the heart of the huge Portes du Soleil. A vast alpine playground for bikers and alpinists in summer which spans 12 villages across France and Switzerland (all on the same lift pass) to offer 850+ km of tracks and trails for all abilities of rider.
You will find Downhill courses aplenty and Freeride trails with dedicated E-bike routes, family mountain biking trails, bike parks and some epic Northshore. The most popular with our guests are long rides (using the lifts) that span the entire region like the Portes du Soleil tour (80 Km) which is a great day out and a real adventure that high intermediate riders will enjoy.
The lifts in Morzine open in May and close in September and mountain bikers can use the chairlifts and gondolas, which have been specially converted to hold bikes. The lift system (25 lifts) is open to bikers and walkers all summer long, so you can access 850+Km’s of tracks and trails spanning the Franco-Swiss border of the immense Portes du Soleil.
The huge Portes du Soleil has so much to offer, and Morzine is right in the middle of it!
Morzine is not all about biking. True that it was an early adopter of the sport, but Morzine has been careful to retain its cultural heritage and a lovely family vibe which appeals to alpine lovers as much as bikers.
It has a vast array of walking and biking trails for families, cafes and shops galore and activities for all tastes on its lakes and mountains. The thing that makes people come back each year is the sheer beauty, which when compared to other alpine resorts, is completely unsurpassed.
All our holidays come with a wide selection of free-and-inclusive activities. We reckon we’ve included the best for free
