The Best Mountain Bike Facilities

The Alps are nirvana for Mountain bikers of all levels and biking is what we do best! Whatever your level, we love introducing our guests to riding the Alps. So whether your goal is to have fun two-wheeled adventures with your family, or go and hit the downhill trails - we’ve got you covered!

Electric Bikes

E-bikes make everything faster and more enjoyable. We guarantee that you’ll be hooked the moment you make your first pedal stroke!

We have a fleet of E-bikes available for rent, but we include a free taster session (half a day) if you are staying at the Hotel Christiania in Les Gets  or Hotel Tetras Lodge in Tignes. We have a fleet of 2025 front suspension E-bikes at our main hotels.

Our Active Team

Our Active team plays an important role in helping you make the most out of your week in the Alps. They will help you find the best rides for your level, hook you up with mountain guides or social rides with other guests and will help you get geared up with an E-Bike or a full suspension Pro bike if you want to go Downhilling.

Our fleet of (free to use) bikes

One thing you’ll need is a good quality, well-sorted bike to ride when holidaying in the Alps and this is the reason we put a lot of care and attention into our bike fleet. Our bike fleet are from leading brands Specialized and Scott and they’ve been spec'd with extra wide tyres and disc brakes, so they’re perfect for valley floor trail riding, resort-level rides and two lift assisted trails of the ‘not-so-steep’ variety on our Route Cards.

Workshops & mechanics

At all our main hotels (which cover our chalets) we have our own mechanics to look after our fleet of bikes and to keep things rolling. If you’re traveling to the Alps with your own bike, then rest assured we have a full repair facility to sort out most ailments, or at least ‘route one’ access to local suppliers who can help out.

Our main workshops are equipped to solve most problems from disc brake alignments to changing bottom brackets, trashed wheels etc. Local shops carry many spares and our mechanics’ can assist. Although their advice is free, their practical help on specific jobs will require an hourly fee.

Full suspension ‘Pro bikes’

If biking is big on your agenda and you want to use the high altitude, lift assisted trails - then you’ll need a high quality full suspension bike and full pads or armour.

Full suspension ‘Pro Bikes’ will help you make the most out of the terrain, by making it safer and easier. Pro Bikes have superior stopping power, longer travel suspension with better quality components designed for tough terrain.

We offer free transfer of (your own) bikes on our airport transfer service; or you can rent a bike locally in the resort. Don’t leave it too late to rent a bike, availability can be limited.

Family Mountain biking

Biking in the Alps is not just for the grown ups.Our resorts offer a plethora of fantastic family trails along the valley floor, through woodland and even some using the lifts. You will also find pump tracks and obstacle courses for beginners and children which offer a safe environment to master some basic skills.

The best bit is that bike hire is inclusive (even kids bikes) so you don't have to think about bringing, or maintaining your own … our in-house mechanics will keep things rolling nicely.

If you want to hit the DH trails, you’ll need to rent a good quality full suspension bike, but we’d recommend looking at Tignes and our DH bike lessons, which are ideal for kids aged 11+.

More on family biking

Try Downhill biking

Why not try your hand at Downhill biking? Let your adrenaline surge as you swoop down a flowing Singletrack course with banked corners, humps, bumps and jumps, graded green to black for the experts. Our Active team will help you get started with renting a full-suspension bike and pads; and even hook you up with some DH Bike Lessons in Tignes which we have designed with specialist school Evo 2... Whatever your level, whatever your taste, we’ve got it covered!

Pump Tracks & beginner bike parks

All our resorts have free access to bike parks, pump tracks and obstacle courses. We love the pump tracks and obstacle courses at resort level, because bikers don’t need a lift pass and you can practice in a safe environment by pumping around banked corners, humps and flowing obstacles. Great for learning some new skills and good fun for kids.

Top Tip: The practice course in Tignes le Lac (at resort level) is excellent, free to use, and gets beginners revved up!

Hotel Christiania - Our MTB Centre

Hotel Christiania is a great hotel for alpinists, families and bikers. It’s in the centre of Les Gets and 100m from the best bike trails. It comes fully equipped for alpine holidays plus some extra facilities for bike enthusiasts. The Christiania Active Pack is more geared to bike enthusiasts and if you’re a seasoned rider looking for a pure bike holiday (and you’re not fussed about the activities) then, consider our Active Pack Lite for a larger holiday discount.
