Things to do in Val d'Isere
Val d’Isère is one of the most famous alpine destinations in the World, and its summer programme is a real treat! Val d’isere guests enjoy an exclusive alpine setting of this quaint and pretty mountain town with its’ vibrant centre, lined with shops, bars and cafes. Expect more than enough free mountain and resort activities for your week away.
White water rafting
A very popular and sociable activity which will have you bonding with other hotel guests in no time! Rafting takes place on the famous white water rapids close to resort, 8-10 man rafts and 2-man ‘Hot Dogging’ inflatable boats can be used, and make this an exhilarating day out for all ages!
Road bike the Col de l’Iseran
PictureThis famous route up to 2,764m will take cyclists up the highest pass in the Alps. It is not too difficult as the gradient eases with altitude, and some “holiday bikers” even do the climb on hybrid mountain bikes. Guests start from our hotel, distance is 17km, to the top, and the gradient eases with altitude. We recommend using our Specialized Road bikes!
Aquasportif leisure complex
The Aquasportif leisure complex is a huge attraction for Val’ guests and offers a pool with slides, chutes, rivers and many other great features to have adults and children grinning from ear to ear! The Wellness suite offers a gym and sauna with Jacuzzi for the ultimate après alpine relaxation. Climbing walls and badminton (among other activities) can add more action to your day!
Via Ferrata
The Via Ferrata in Val’ is superb and a must do activity that we offer all of our guests! Following marked routes through the mountains you are helped along by steps, bridges and ladders whilst being roped up for extra safety. Suitable for adults and children over the age of 8.
Sportignes Multi Pass!
Make use of the Sportignes pass in Tignes from just £5 per day! Take a bike and use the lifts to access Tignes (1 hour bike ride) to make use of the array of lake activities and resort based activities which are included on the Sportignes pass, and all for a special price for our VDI guests. Try sailing, kayaking, paddleboard and Acro land and so much more!
Parapenting
From the heights of the mountain tops one can glide down to the bottom of the valley on a tandem paraglider controlled by the instructor. He manoeuvres the parachute while the passenger enjoys the ride and fantastic views.Our Active Reps can organise this for you in resort.
Downhill Mountain biking
Try the superb downhill track from the top of the La Daille cable car - quite technical, stunningly beautiful views and guaranteed to hone your bike skills 110% by the time you reach the bottom! Or venture up and over into the Tignes sector for more Cross Country biking and the full range of the excellent Espace Killy tracks and trails. You will get a free lift pass, Route Cards (maps) and quality bike hire with all holidays.
Helicopter Flights
Daily helicopter flights are available (weather permitting) with a number of local flight companies. Relax and enjoy the stunning views as you fly over the snow capped mountais, glaciers and alpine forests teeming with wildlife.
Shops and cafes!
Valdisere does cafes and shopping well! As expected from an outdoor sports Mecca, there are plenty sports stores where you can get your hands on some of the top mountaineering brands such as The North Face, Black Diamond, Salomon, Peak Perfomance and Burton. For the trendy-set and surfers try Misty Fly, Billabong, Roxy, Pull In and Quiksilver. Not to mention a plethora of stunnig bars and cafes to help you relax and unwind!
