Alongside its neighbour, Morzine, Les Gets is one of the most successful and popular bike destinations in the Alps. In fact, it’s more bike oriented than Morzine and enjoys hosting world cup events and the largest selection of trails to suit all levels - beginners to advanced. The resort has adopted a 'Bikes Welcome' initiative by designing the centre of the village to encourage cyclists and mountain bikes to circulate.
Les Gets is without dispute the best facilitated and set up biking resort in the French Alps, and possibly Europe. It hosts many world class bike events and offers an excellent range of bike shops and a great biking atmosphere with the bars and cafes full of like minded riders.
Up on the hill, you can find 128Km of local trails - from Downhill courses to Freeride and Northshore. The local terrain has dedicated Cross Country and E-bike routes and rides for beginner and family; but coupled with the wider Portes du Soleil - it makes up for the largest linked bike area in Europe with 25 lifts and more than 850 km of trails to explore.
The lifts in Les Gets open in May and close in September and mountain bikers can use the chairlifts and gondolas, which have been specially converted to hold bikes. The lift system (25 lifts) is open to bikers and walkers all summer long, so you can access 850+Km’s of tracks and trails spanning the Franco-Swiss border of the immense Portes du Soleil.

Les Gets is not all about biking and the family will all love Les Gets which seems to pleasantly blend the bikers with the family alpine enthusiasts to create a wonderfully diverse and beautiful place to visit, with shops and bars aplenty, activities for all tastes and there’s even a pretty lake just above its centre. With so many activities on offer, this summer playground really appeals to all ages.
