Itinerary Suggestion

*Included: means included in your Free Active Pack

These are guide itineraries using our Free Active pack with top-up costs as indicated. You can mix and match activities and swap days around from those illustrated.

Day 1

AM - Accro Park (€4 to €27 Child to Adult)

Visit the Accro Park for treetop adventure with rope swings, aerial runways and more. Adult and children’s courses.

PM – Swimming Pool and kids fun (Included*)

Make use of your free day’s entry to the swimming pool. Inside is a large pool with waterfall, river rapids, water jets and hot tub. Outside is a 50 m pool, fun pools, paddling pool with games, slides, relaxation area. Beach and snack bar.

Day 2

AM – Excursion to Aiguille du Midi (lift pass from £29*)

Visit the great rocky fang of the Aiguille du Midi which rises from Mont Blanc. A great day out as you travel up Europe's highest cable car (3842m). Why not test your nerve at Step Into The Void - a 2.5m glass box which juts out over a precipice.

PM – Mer de Glace

If you want to turn this into a full day trip, we recommend walking over to the famous ‘Mer de Glace’ (Sea of Ice) which is the largest glacier in France. Have lunch at restaurant Le Panoramique, then visit the exhibition dedicated to glaciology followed by the ice caves and finally catch the little red Montenvers train back down to the resort.

*A lift pass works out at £29 per day if you buy a 3-day pass and covers all lifts in the Cham’ Valley

Day 3

AM - Mountain bike ride (bike included)

Make use of your free bike hire and go for an adventure along the Valley floor and hit some trails or just potter with the kids to one of Cham’s many lakes.

PM – Relax at the lake

Spend the afternoon relaxing at one of the lakes, sunbathing. Or go further afield to Lake Passy for a swim, It’s a nice cycle ride or drive to get there.

Day 4

AM – White Water Rafting (included)

A sociable and exhilarating activity on the rapids. This is a free-and-inclusive activity with our Active Packs and open to all ages 8+. The rapids are close to the centre of Chamonix and it’s a great way to meet fellow Alpine guests.

PM - Mountain bike ride

Make use of your free bike hire and go for a valley floor trail-blaze! Or use the lifts and go and do some more serious biking. Lift pass is extra.

Day 5

AM - Guided mountain bike ride (from €65)

Now that you’ve got a feel for the trails, why not join a guided bike ride run by a professional guide. Discover some incredible biking with your guide and how to use the lifts and high mountain trails. Guaranteed to get your pulse racing! Guided rides last half a day and we recommend upgrading your free bike hire to a full suspension bike from £25 for half a day.

Or

AM - Canyoning (€65)

Canyoning is seriously addictive! You will slide down waterfalls and chutes, jump into rock pools as you follow a river canyon downstream. Option to make into a full day activity.

Day 6

AM & PM –  Great hikes from Chamonix

One of our favourite hikes uses the Brévent cable car, (lift pass from £29), to Plan Praz at 2000m. Then take the cable car to Le Brévent at 2,525m. Discover the south slopes and great panoramic views of Mont Blanc. Stop at a mountain restaurant for lunch.

From the top of Le Brévent, a footpath goes to Aiguillette des Houches via the Bel-Lachat mountain hut. A stunning altitude walk where you can enjoy peace and tranquility in the sun.

Please note:

These itineraries are a guide. Many of the resort-based activities are self-serve which means you travel to the activity nearby and organise in your own time. For the organised activities, (like White water rafting and Via Ferrata or Canyoning), we will organise travel (if needed) and meeting points. Session times may change.

Most of the bike ride and walking suggestions are self-guided, (unless otherwise stated). We provide the Route Cards and maps, so you can find your own way around marked trails.
