Changes for 2019

Welcome to Alpine Elements. We do hope you are looking forward to your holiday with us.

I would like to personally bring to your attention to some relatively minor changes in our programme for 2019 which have been brought about by legislative changes now affecting the industry, as a whole.

First, you will already be aware of the five nights catering, which is a reduction from the previously supplied 6 nights. The change has come from mounting pressures from the French employment department (URSSAF) to improve the welfare of our hardworking staff, for which we are very supportive.

We remain ever committed to providing catered ski holidays to British skiers with value-for-money at the core of our model. The decision to reduce a night of catering has been adopted by most (if not all) other mainstream Ski Tour Operators in our arena. This was a collective decision and has led to the establishment of a Code of Conduct between tour operators, so that we are aligned through these changing times.

We would also like to point out that the evening mealtime in resort has been brought forward to 6.30pm. This is so that we can respect the 11 hour rest period that is now being enforced by the Administration.

It is no secret that these changes have been brought about by a tightening of the benefits that staff receive, (lift pass etc), a subsequent enforcement of French minimum wage and the requirement for staff to have two days off per week.

We have all enjoyed more than thirty years of a relaxed system that allowed young chalet hosts to come to the Alps and take part in some of their first life-experiences. And despite recent changes, we remain ever-committed to providing you with a value-for-money catered ski holiday to the Alps.

Although this tightening of legislation has affected the standard ski package in a relatively minor way, we believe that it will enable us to deliver a better-quality product for the elements that really matter.

I sincerely believe that these changes will not affect your overall enjoyment of our holidays and we very much hope to see you travel with us again for many more years to come.
