Your week in Morzine

A typical week in Morzine for Summer 2025

There are dozens of alpine activities for all ages to discover and our  Active Team will help you make the most of your week away.

We offer some of the best activities (for free) with our Active Packs to give you the most rounded experience of the Alps, and this is a suggestion of what your week could look like:

A Family Adventure Holiday

Morzine is suitable for all ages with plenty to do for kids age 4+; not forgetting the mountain of activities for teens’ and adults with a penchant for adrenaline. Our Active Kids Clubs help families achieve their goals where mum and dad get to do something active for themselves while also encouraging families to be active and enjoying the alps together.

Day 1 - Mountain biking

Grab one of our free-use bikes from the hotel racks and try a bike ride along the river Dranse, it’s great for all ages and you can get your biking legs warmed up on a leisurely river-trail. Kids will love the woodland activities you can do along the way; and a picnic by the river is always popular.

Or, head for the hills and try a more adventurous ride at altitude, following one of our epic Route Cards!

In the Afternoon
Why not venture up to the Nyon waterfalls - on two wheels or two feet. Or grab your free lift pass and head up the Pleney gondola for spectacular views, walks and coffee. There’s also resort based activities, (free on your Multipass, or low cost) like ice skating and swimming or the Luge.

Day 2 - The lakes for swimming, SUP & kayaks!

Why not visit Lac Montriond to try some wild swimming, a woodland walk around the lake and to make use of our inclusive paddleboarding and kayaking excursion. It’s a great day out with lakeside restaurants and cafes.

Our Active Team will be at the lake to meet you and you can choose to either take out a stand up paddleboard or a sit-on-top kayak . Each session lasts for about an hour and if you have any energy left you can extend your time with the kayak centre. It’s a beautiful lake and our guests love to explore this tranquil waterway.

In the Afternoon
After your session on the lake, why not go for lunch at a lake restaurant or walk up to the goat village (a village with goats roaming) which is about a one hour walk from the lake, up towards Lindarets and well worth it. For a shorter walk then a loop of the lake on the footpath is a beautiful walk to do with younger kids.

Kayaking & Paddleboarding

Day 3 Whitewater rafting day trip

A highlight of the week is our inclusive Whitewater Rafting excursion which we include for all guests. It’s a great social event and you’ll have a blast with other Alpine Elements guests.

Everyone enjoys rafting, whatever their level of fitness and it is suitable for ages 8+ (confident swimmers). It is run by experienced guides who pilot your boat and you’ll be picked up after breakfast for the transfer (by coach) down to the rafting centre. Younger children will be looked after by our childcare or Active Team in a specially extended Breakfast Club.

In the Afternoon
…Relax at the hotel pool or in your chalet garden. Amble around Morzines’ shops and cafes, or, (if you have any energy left), go for a high-altitude walk or hike using your free lift pass on the cable cars? We have plenty of walking Route Cards to choose from, and the mountain lifts are open all day.

Day 4 - ‘Cascades’ Tree Top Adventure

Day 4 can start with our very popular excursion to ‘Cascades Adventure’ which is also free-and-inclusive on all our holidays. It’s a tree top adventure course at the Nyon Waterfalls and you make your way through the trees using harness lines and combination of zip wires and rope walks among other fun and exhilarating things. The activity lasts for just over 3 hours and there are courses for tentative adults and Kids aged 6-13 and an Adventure PLUS course for confident adults and kids age 13+.

This was one of our most popular activities for 2024 and as an inclusive activity with our holidays - it’s another sociable excursion to be enjoyed with other Alpine Elements guests.

It’s also an enjoyable walk or ride to the centre if you don't want to take the free bus, so you can extend your day out on two wheels or two feet and also tour around the Nyon waterfalls which are near the activity.

In the Afternoon
After your Cascades adventure, you can take lunch in the Cascades cafe and extend your day by walking or cycling to Lac Mines d'Or which is a stunning, bucolic lake about an hour or so’s hike from Cascades. Our Active team can give you a Route Card for these walks.

Day 5 - Try the Fantasticable Day Out

This is a great day out which is a loop-walk or ride using the lifts and a high mountain route which ends up in Lake Montriond. You can walk it, or take your free-use bikes to enjoy this altitude trek on two wheels - so long as you stick to the tarmac roads on the way down!

You will start by taking the Super Morzine gondola and then the Zorre chairlift immediately afterwards. You will then have a scenic altitude walk or ride down to Lake Montriond via walking trails or the tarmac road for free-use bikes. More serious bikers can rent full-suspension bikes and enjoy the downhill trails as an alternative to the road.

On the way down to the lake you can visit the longest Zipwire in Europe, (the Fantasticable), and the Goat Village for ice cream and a coffee - which is a mountain village inhabited by many goats! You just need to follow the Route Card that our Active Team can give you. This loop walk or ride suits and ages 5+

Option 1: Half way down to the lake you will come to the Lindarets bowl and the Chaux Fleurie chairlift which goes straight up to the Fantasticable Zipwire (from €17).

Option 2: Relax in the sun and enjoy the cafes of Lindarets then continue your journey down, via the Goat Village. You will end up at lake Montriond and you can finish the day sunbathing and wild swimming. If you've any energy left, walk or ride the remaining distance home, or just take the free bus from the lake.

Fantasticable

Day 6 - Walk or cycle to Les Gets - using the lifts

This is an exciting day out! Follow one of our Route Cards and use your free lift pass to take the Pleney cable car up to the top (an elevation of 989m) where there is a restaurant and a family biking trail or a walking path which leads across the top and down into Les Gets. As you drop down into les Gets during this scenic walk at altitude you will come across the lake which makes a great pit-stop.

In the Afternoon
Why not just enjoy the lake for sun bathing… wild swimming… or try the inflatable obstacle course, known as the Wi-Bit. It’s a great activity for all ages, (from €14), before heading down into Les Gets itself to browse its many shops and cafes. You can take the free bus back to Morzine or retrace your steps using the Chavannes chairlift which heads back up from the resort centre.
