We’ve selected six of the best activities to do on holiday in Tignes, (one for each day of your week), and they’re all free-to-do in our Active Pack, to guests of the Hotel Tetras Lodge in Les Brevieres.
These activities will give you the most rounded experience of the spectacular Vanoise National Park - a protected area full of alpine flora, fauna, (that’s wildlife to you and me!), incredible mountain vistas and snow covered glaciers - all of which you can experience on two feet, by two wheels, or with a paddle in your hands!
Tignes Les Brevieres is the original ‘old town’ of Tignes. It’s quieter than Tignes and utterly picturesque - surrounded by stunning walks and bike rides in nature. We run a more luxe holiday where the guides (or transport) and activities come to our hotel, so you don't always have to go wandering off looking for meeting points.
Tignes is in the southern alps and enjoys a high sunshine record with a lot of great weather. Its huge altitude range (1550m to 3456m+) allows us to offer our guests a more adventurous and diverse holiday where you can try everything from Whitewater rafting to glacier tours at 3550m…and high altitude hikes to culture tours on the valley floor. You can even ski in the summer on Tignes’ glacier!

A guided hike is the best way to see the area, and ours are led by professional mountain guides who will show you some incredible sights, wildlife and mountain culture. Join our family-friendly Discovery Walk or our Adventure hike to the Eye of the Needle, a spectacular rock formation and one of the region's most INSTA-captured images.
If you upgrade to our Adventure Pack, ou will enjoy a full day guided hike to the Refuge Martin for lunch at 2187m which is an incredible day out.
In the afternoon, why not play some tennis, (there’s a great court close to the hotel) or take out a mountain bike from our hotel racks and go for a ride around the lake.
Or, try a Downhill mountain bike lesson and learn how to use the bike lifts and high-altitude trails. Do it early in the week and you will be equipped with the skills to ride the DH trails for the rest of your week, if you rent a Pro bike.

Have you ever ridden an E-Bike? They are a lot of fun and will guarantee to get you hooked! Join our professional guides for an E-bike ‘Discovery’ tour or an ‘Adventure’ ride for more experienced riders. Your guide is also a professional instructor and will impart riding tips and techniques to help you master E-biking on gentle off road trails. E-bikes will give you the opportunity to cover extended mileages and see a lot of the region. Our guided rides are a sociable event, always enjoyed with fellow Alpine Elements guests.
In the afternoon, take it easy and try one of our itinerary walks or bike rides around the lake in front of the hotel. Or, take the free bus up to Tignes and use the lifts to walk or sightsee. It’s all free on your MyTignes pass.

The Grande Motte glacier is a must-do excursion and you can experience walking in a glacial zone. Your MyTignes pass will give you a free ride up the funicular to the Panoramic terrace where you can enjoy a coffee or lunch at (3032m) with incredible views across the Alps. Then, for a €10 lift ticket you can extend your adventure and ride the cable car to the top of the glacier at 3456m.
As a bit of an upgrade, you can join a glacier hike with a professional mountaineer from Evo 2 and hike across a snow covered glacier using crampons, ice axes and harnesses. This experience is for everyone of moderate fitness and can be booked on arrival at Hotel Tetras Lodge in your welcome meeting.
In the afternoon, why not visit the lake in Tignes and go for your free session of Paddleboarding, Pedalo or Kayaking - which is on the way home back to Hotel Tetras.

Included for all our hotel guests is a Whitewater Rafting experience for ages 8+; or you can choose Via Ferrata if rafting isn't quite your cup of tea. If you choose rafting, you will be exhilarated on grade 2-3 rapids, which are suitable for families.
Adventure Pack guests will be upgraded to grade 2-4 rapids for a longer, faster ride called the ‘Great Descent’, (ages 12+). The rafting centre is in a beautiful riverside setting with a wonderful, welcoming team who will make sure you have a great time. You will be picked up directly from the hotel and the drive is about 30-40 mins
In the afternoon: It will be mid-afternoon by the time you return, so why not take it easy for a while?...Enjoy the hotel garden, the lake and the beautiful restaurants and bars in Les Brevieres

Upgrade to our Adventure Pack and have the extra (bonus) activity of Via Ferrata as well. It is based in nearby Val D’Isere (a 15 min free-shuttle ride away) and famous as some of the finest Via Ferrata in Europe. You will move through spectacular mountain scenery using pre-laid mountaineering routes, so no special climbing skills are required. You will cross rope bridges and scale rock faces as you walk, ramble and climb through stunning places. Three routes are available for different skill levels, so all fitnesses can join this wonderful activity.
In the afternoon: Make use of your free E-Bike session (a half day rental) and explore the local area. You can upgrade to a full day hire for just £25 if Via ferrata is not on the agenda; and because you’ve enjoyed your inclusive Guided ride earlier in the week, now it’s time to go on your own adventure!

You’ve enjoyed our complimentary guided E-Bike ride earlier in the week, so now it’s time to join a professionally guided mountain bike ride. Choose from our family-friendly ‘Discovery’ tour or an Adventure ride. Your guide is an expert rider from Evo 2 and will also teach you some useful tips and techniques for trail riding on a mountain bike.
Alternatively, you can choose a guided hike instead: You will enjoy a sociable hike with fellow Alpine Elements guests and a different walk to the guided hike from earlier in the week.
All of the activities featured on this page are free and included within your standard Active Pack or our Adventure Pack upgrade. Our Adventure upgrade is excellent value and not only includes the bonus activity of Via Ferrata but an upgrade to our rafting and guided hike as well.
Where a second activity is suggested as an option, such as a guided hike instead of a guided mountain bike ride, it will require a minimum number of participants, which is 8 for the hike and 10 for the ride. We don’t often have a problem with participant numbers and we always endeavour to give our guests their first choice of activity. All activities are supplied by third party suppliers for whom we act as agents and whose terms and conditions will apply.
