There’s nothing quite like the feeling of coming back from a hard day’s skiing to a warm chalet, where you’ve nothing to do but put your feet up and kick back with some afternoon tea, without worrying about who's turn it is to cook that evening.
Unlike most chalet companies, we still offer six nights catering (and not just five); and to do this, we’ve cut some of the non-essential items from our service so we can keep providing value-for-money holidays. Here’s how we do it.
Here’s an overview of our service model which we’ve helped develop with guest feedback; and we think you’ll agree still provides the same great chalet experience:
Your chalet will come deep cleaned and hot tubs fully sanitised with the water changed. Your bedroom will be made-up (naturally!) and your chalet host will be there to meet and greet you on arrival, or shortly after you arrive on our transfer coaches. For self-travellers or arrivals before check-in (3pm), please inform our concierge team so your host can meet you for your arrival.
Your host will serve a Bubbly Welcome Reception at around 4pm, so do make sure you join us and learn about your chalet and the week ahead. There will also be some cake for afternoon tea for when you arrive (around 4pm).
Your host will be in your chalets for six evenings to serve dinner (6.30pm to 9pm). They will have one full day off and two mornings off (when breakfast is ‘self-serve’). On their one full day off, there is no afternoon tea or evening meal so you are free to explore the local restaurants.
Afternoon tea is freshly made cakes or biscuits and tea, coffee, hot-choc and French bread with preserves. It is always laid out on a self-serve basis for guests to help themselves after skiing. On chalet staff day off we do not provide afternoon tea.
Breakfast is provided daily. Four mornings is continental and three mornings, as well as a continental spread, your host will cook a Full English (or as close as we can make it!) which is either cooked to order and plated for each guest, or served buffet style on the dining table.
Your host will have one full day off and two mornings off (when breakfast is ‘self-serve’). Therefore, your host will not be in the chalet for three mornings of your week. Breakfast will be available on a self-serve basis and staff will come in later to clear up.
Your host is there to cook and clean the chalet public areas. We deep clean bedrooms for your arrival but we don’t service rooms each day. Instead, we freshen up en-suites and empty bins in the middle of the week, (midweek), with a towel change.
A catered chalet works best when guests help keep the chalet clean and tidy so that our hardworking staff can come and do their job, without restrictions each day.
Our ski concierge is a team of reps who work from a virtual office and assist you with your pre-departure holiday needs. They will call you 8-10 weeks before your departure to help you organise ski extras (lessons, lift pass, ski hire) and any other special requests (diet, transfers, wine upgrades etc) that you may require.
